Milly Zwickl, 84, died August 8, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born November 26, 1924 at Galena, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer G. and Mattie (Simpson) Spurlock. She married H. Frank Donner April 18, 1942 at Newton, Kansas. He died September 4, 1984. She then married Gilbert Zwickl July 5, 1986 at Great Bend. He died March 16, 1993. Mrs. Zwickl was secretary and clerk for the Barton County Treasurer and Probate Judge retiring after working eighteen years. Mrs. Zwickl was a member of the Kansas Peace Officer Association, Silver and Gold Club, Senior Center Revelair Band and the High Rise Band, all of Great Bend; and was a devoted member of First Church of God, Great Bend. Survivors include one sister, Marvis C. Doering, Moundridge, Kansas; and several nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Max E. Spurlock and Jack L. Spurlock; and two sisters, Dorothy Demanche and Bertha Waber. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2009 at First Church of God. The Reverend Tom Swain will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the First Church of God or Golden Belt Humane Society, both in care of the funeral home.
