Mildred N. Johnston, 86, died January 29, 2008 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born April 8, 1921 in Coffeyville, Kansas, the daughter of Forest B. and Alta Mae Mills Manley. On April 21, 1940 she married Alva G. Johnston in Oswego, Kansas. He died January 9, 2001. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Hoisington, Kansas. Survivors include a daughter, Maybell Smith of Rockford, Illinois; a brother, Gail Manley of Hoisington, Kansas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Manley and a sister, Dixie B. Manley. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Nicholson - Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Kansas with the Reverend Dwight Dozier officiating. Interment will be at the Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2008 and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the charity or organization of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
