Michael Franklin "Mike" Vink, 61, died May 29, 2007 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. Mike was born August 10, 1945, at St. Rose Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Melvin F. and Marcella "Sally" Zecha Vink. He was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. Mike was a member of the family owned business, OPI, Inc. also of Great Bend. Mike was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima. He was an active donor and participant of the Salvation Army. He was an avid photographer and collector and was interested in hunting and fishing. Survivors include: his mother: Marcella "Sally" Vink of Great Bend, Kansas; three brothers: Craig Vink and wife Kim of Great Bend, Kansas, Kenny Vink and wife Cindy, Ellinwood, Kansas and Terry Vink and wife Sandra of Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Kathy Berkley and husband Mike of Forrestburg, Texas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin F. Vink. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kansas. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 2, 2007, 9:00 a.m. to service time at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to U.S.D. 428 Education Foundation or Barton County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
