Maurine Riggio passed away April 26, 2008 in Glendale, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter and siblings Mildred Bowman, Richard Grizzell, Robert Grizzell and Bette Jones. She is survived by Willis C. Grizzell, Garden Grove, California, Lenora V. Grizzell, Hartford, Connecticut, Miriam G. Zieber, Audubon, Pennsylvania, and ten nieces and nephews. Maurine was born on wheat farm in Claflin, Barton County, central Kansas, the fifth of eight children. She attended grade school and high school in Claflin and graduated from Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science with a degree in Home Economics and Dietetics. For over thirty years she worked in the dietary department at Cedars Hospital in Los Angeles, retiring in 1980. She was an active and longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood including the Homebuilders Bible Class, the American Dietetic Association and a member of the Hollywood Chapter of DAR. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Claflin with the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating.
