Mathias "Matt" Boor, 94, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born August 30, 1918 at Rural Odin, Kansas the son of Nicholas and Anna (Birzer) Boor. Matt married Margaret Axman September 9, 1941 at Olmitz, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2006. He was a farmer and a lifelong Barton County, Kansas resident. Matt was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Holy Name Society, all of Odin. He enjoyed farming, his animals, and tinkering in the shop. He was devoted to his faith and family. Survivors include one son, Larry Boor of Great Bend; three daughters, Loretta Finger and husband Robert of Hoisington, Kansas, Judy Conley and husband Kirby of Wichita, Kansas, Donna Bates of Hoisington, Kansas; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jim Boor and Gerry Boor; two brothers; five sisters; one daughter-in-law, Doreen Boor; and one son-in-law, Gary Bates. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Father Charles Mazouch and Father Francis Oroffa as con-celebrants. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a vigil service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.
