Mary E. Wohlcke, 82, died April 21, 2009 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born September 16, 1926 at Ozark, Arkansas, the daughter of Opert and Elta Mae (Vernon) Anderson. She married Andrew Wohlcke September 4, 1948 at Ozark, Arkansas. He died June 13, 1990. A Hoisington, Kansas, resident since 1965, she was a retired cashier for Sears in Great Bend. Mrs. Wohlcke was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was very active and taught Sunday School. Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Wilton and husband Larry, Hoisington, Kansas; two sons: Tom Wohlcke and Fred Wohlcke, both of Hoisington, Kansas; one sister, Kate Goodwin, Ozark, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Anderson; and two sisters, Frances Sowell and Gladys Brown. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Hoisington Cemetery. The Reverend John Grummon will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2009, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Clara Barton Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
