Mary Bridget Schneider, 92, died October 23, 2012 at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born September 18, 1920 on the family farm at Belpre, Kansas, the daughter of John Miles and Agnes Viola (Gibney) Kearney. She was a 1938 graduate of Belpre High School and an August 1941 graduate of St. Rose School of Nursing, Great Bend. She married Marion Joseph Schneider January 6, 1942 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. He died October 28, 1999. A Great Bend resident since 2003, coming from Albert, Mrs. Schneider was a registered nurse at St. Rose Hospital, Central Kansas Medical Center, and Hoisington Lutheran Hospital, retiring in 1985. Mrs. Schneider was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Olmitz; and VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons: Ronald Charles Schneider and his wife Charlotte, Great Bend; and James Randall "Randy" Schneider and his wife Sharon, Eden Prairie, Minnesota; one daughter: Rhonda Geralyn Lundquist and her husband Mike, Graham, Washington; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Thomas Kearney; one sister, Viola Margaret Shenefield; and one grandson, Jon Lundquist. Altar Society Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. and vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church. Father Ultan Murphy will be celebrant. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home and after 3:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to St. Ann Catholic Church or St. Ann Cemetery Fund, in care of the funeral home.
