Mary Elizabeth Henkle, 80, died on October 21, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. Born April 9, 1934, in Burlington she was the daughter of Charles William and Hazel Loretta (Doll) Reynolds. On February 12, 1950, she married Carl W. Henkle in Holyrood. A resident of Great Bend since 1953, coming from Ellsworth County, she was employed by Sears in the customer service department, retiring after more than thirty years of service. Mrs. Henkle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, Carl W. Henkle, of the home; one son, Bob Henkle and his wife Cheryl of Gardner; three daughters, Carlon White and her husband Rick of Wasilla, Alaska, Sandy Berges and her husband Reen, and Sarah Crawford Henkle, both of Great Bend; one brother, Robert Reynolds of Springdale, Ark.; four sisters, Helen Frew of Portland, Ore., Anita of Joplin, Mo., Shirley Grenegar, of Joplin, Mo., and Cathy Peters of Junction City; eleven grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Lyman; one brother, Bill Reynolds; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend with the Reverend Mark P. Galbraith officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home.
