Mary Ann Goode, 85, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 14, 1923 at Olmitz, Kansas, the daughter of Adolph and Anna Marie (Riedel) Bartonek. She married Fred A. Maneth at Olmitz. He died in 1963. She then married Roy Goode at Wichita, Kansas. He died in 1997. Mrs. Goode was a longtime resident of Olmitz, moving to Ava, Missouri, and back to Great Bend, Kansas, in 1990. She was a greenthumb for handicapped people in Ava, Missouri, retiring in 1989, and also worked in the laundry business. Mrs. Goode was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. Survivors include one sister, Esther Hildreth, Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Bartonek and Vernon Bartonek. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, with Father Ultan Murphy celebrant. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. Ann Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
