Martha Estella Barker, 99, died March 14, 2009 at Kenwood View Nursing Home, Salina, Kansas. She was born April 17, 1909 at Isabel, Kansas, the daughter of Ora and Grace Corr Nossaman. She married Earl Edward Barker at Pratt, Kansas. He died June 14, 1985. Mrs. Barker was a homemaker and a resident of Great Bend since 1937 coming from Pratt, Kansas. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Earl E. Barker, Jr. of Tuttle, Oklahoma; two daughters, Joyce Ewing and Faye Shephard both of Salina, Kansas; one brother, Elmo Nossaman of Midwest City, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carole Biegler and Ruth Riggs; four brothers, Clifford, Floyd, Merla and S. L. Nossaman and three sisters, Helen Drake, Bessie Miller and Delma Conn. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas with Pastor Roy Savage officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m on Monday, March 16, 2009 and Tuesday, March 17., 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Grace Community Church in care of the funeral home.
