Marjory Moore, 89, died November 1, 2008 at her Great Bend, Kansas, home. She was born September 16, 1919 at Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England, the daughter of Thomas William and Mary Ann (Tate) Telford. She married Leonard A. Moore August 7, 1945 at Downham Market, England. A resident of Great Bend since 1947, coming from Hays, Mrs. Moore was a cashier at Central Kansas Medical Center cafeteria for seventeen years before retiring. She was a three year LACW British Royal Air Force veteran of World War II. Mrs. Moore's zest for life included her love for music, reading, and especially sharing her sense of humor with family and friends. She always enjoyed having a bit of fun at someone else's expense. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Leonard A. Moore, of the home; one son: David A. Moore and wife, Leticia, Milliken, Colorado; two daughters: Sherry A. Winters and husband, Gail, Greeley, Colorado; and Tina M. Duryee and husband, Jim, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother: Alan Telford and wife, Jean, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England; two grandchildren: Justin H. Winters and Jennifer B. Merck and husband, Jeremy; and two step-grandchildren: Matt Salazar and Jennifer Salazar. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Telford, Harry Telford, and Thomas Telford; and two sisters, Elsie Gardner and Katherine Telford. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Great Bend. The Reverend Phyllis Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2008, with the family to receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral home.
