Marjorie Jean Eppley, 90, died December 26, 2009 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born April 4, 1919 at Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of William J. "Bill" and Vida Ruth (Jolly) DeSelms. She married Robert Dale Eppley February 8, 1941 at Stafford, Kansas. He died May 23, 1995. The moved to Hoisington, Kansas, in 1951 where they owned Reliance Exploration. Mrs. Eppley was an active member of First Christian Church and also attended Living Joy Church, both of Hoisington. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. Survivors include one son, William D. "WD" Eppley and wife Gloria, Hoisington; five grandchildren: Dennis Eppley, Del City, Oklahoma; Brenda Eppley, Bennett, Colorado; Candy Jones and husband Steve, Milford, Nebraska; Rhonda Chapin, Bertrand, Nebraska; and Lance Medved and wife Lana, Lincoln, Nebraska; great-grandchildren: Tarin Chapin, Bertrand, Nebraska; Josh Chapin, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mike Medved, Lincoln, Nebraska; Echo Bell and husband Bud, Lincoln, Nebraska; Jeremy Medved and wife Jessica, Bear Lake, Minnesota; Brandy Medved, Omaha, Nebraska; Brittany Medved, Lincoln, Nebraska; Julie Reese, Bennett, Colorado; Christina Eppley, Bennett, Colorado; and Johanna Fellers, Lincoln, Nebraska; and five great-great-grandchildren: Haley Gaines, Ethan Chapin, Casin and Collins Bell, and Aspen Chapin. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert D. Eppley, Jr. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. The Reverends William F. Johnson and Dale Curtis will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2009, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Thursday, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Living Joy Church, in care of the funeral home.
