Marilyn L. Maresch, 82, died July 15, 2008 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born February 3, 1926 at Rush County, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Johnson) Bortz. She married Glenn Everett Maresch August 22, 1946 at Rush Center, Kansas. He died August 15, 1989. Mrs. Maresch was a graduate of LaCrosse High School and received her teacher's certificate from Fort Hays State University. She was a teacher for Unified School District 428, a seamstress, and a homemaker. Mrs. Maresch was a resident of Great Bend since 1957, coming from Rush County. Mrs. Maresch was a member of the First United Methodist Church, charter member of the Gemini Mothers of Twins Club and Bissell's Point EHU, all of Great Bend. She was also a charter member of the Kansas Organization of Mothers of Twins Club. Survivors include four sons: Aaron Maresch, Great Bend, Kansas; Myron Maresch, Ozona, Texas; Edward Maresch, Salina, Kansas; and Eldred Maresch, Hoisington, Kansas; one daughter, Sharlyn Mulneix, Hoisington, Kansas; one sister, Eldora Conard, Rush County, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas. The Reverend Gary Brooks will officiate. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Barton County Fair, in care of the funeral home.
