Marilyn Klepper, 76, died December 31, 2009 at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood, Kansas. She was born July 5, 1933 at Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of John M. and Catherine (Quilty) Russell. She married Kenneth M. Klepper September 22, 1952 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. A lifetime resident, Mrs. Klepper was a homemaker and later was a clerk of medical records for Dr. Niederee after achieving her Associate Degree from Barton County Community College. Her life revolved around her family, which included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; they were the joy of her life. She loved cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her frequent visits to the library. Mrs. Klepper was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima and the Prince of Peace Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Klepper, of the home; three sons, David Klepper and wife Janice, Great Bend, Kansas; Michael Klepper and wife Nancy, Hoisington, Kansas; and Stephen Klepper and wife Jody, Great Bend; one daughter, Kathleen Graf and husband Jim, Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters: Joan Daniel, Wichita, Kansas; and Patty Karns, Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, John "Jack" Russell II. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. and a vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Peter Fernandez officiating. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Great Bend Public Library or the Prince of Peace Parish, both in care of the funeral home.
