Margaret Ann "Maggie" Weingrad, 68, died May 26, 2010 at her Hoisington, Kansas, residence. She was born October 13, 1941 at Blackduck, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Schippers) Arlt. She married Robert "Bob" Weingrad January 4, 1963 at Kay, Oklahoma. He died February 27, 1982. A Hoisington resident since 2008, coming from Great Bend, Wichita, and Cisco, Texas, Mrs. Weingrad was a registered nurse, receiving her degree from William and Mary College, Wichita. She worked for Wesley Medical Center and various other hospitals. She was also a traveling nurse. Mrs. Weingrad was a member of AARP and various nursing organizations. Survivors include one son, Mark Weingrad and wife Rhonda, Great Bend; one daughter, Lori Taylor and husband Ken, Wichita, Kansas; one brother, William Arlt and wife Lana, Rising Star, Texas; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Arlt. Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend William F. Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Great Bend Zoo, in care of the funeral home.
