Margaret G. Damon, 96, died September 2, 2010 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born March 29, 1914 at Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles and Fern (Schultz) Hess. She married Ansel Martin "Bud" Damon April 17, 1935 at Lyons, Kansas. He died December 26, 1993. A homemaker, Mrs. Damon was a Great Bend resident since 1935, coming from Chase, Kansas. Mrs. Damon was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Etudian Club, both of Great Bend. Survivors include two sons: Donald Hess Damon and wife Kathleen and Kenneth Ray Damon and wife Trudy, both of Great Bend; one granddaughter, Karen Damon, Great Bend; step-grandson, Jim Blackwell, Hoisington, Kansas; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Katharyne Eberhardt, and one granddaughter, Aimee Rupp. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. The Reverend Stan Crawford will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 2010 and from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home.
