Mabel Emilie Ankerholz, 93, died July 6, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 12, 1918 at Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Fred H. and Elma W. (Schuster) Jurgensen. She married Herman William Ankerholz April 19, 1946 at Hutchinson, Kansas. He died October 18, 1980. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mrs. Ankerholz worked for Dar-Style Cleaners. Mrs. Ankerholz was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include one brother, Roy Lee Jurgensen, Great Bend; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Lester Wilhelm Jurgensen, Howard Frederick Jurgensen, Melvin Merlyn Jurgensen, and Glenn E. Jurgensen; and one infant sister. Graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Reverend James A. Strasen will officiate. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Cedar Park Place, in care of the funeral home.
