Lucille Dreher Scheck, 86, died October 21, 2008 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born March 3, 1922 at Schoenchen, Kansas, the daughter of Matthew and Anna (Sauer) Dreher. She married Richard Scheck October 22, 1942 at Schoenchen. He died November 16, 1981. A resident of Great Bend since 1942, Mrs. Scheck was a sales clerk for Reisbig's. Mrs. Scheck was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, the Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabella, all of Great Bend. Survivors include two daughters: Linda Wise, Derby, Kansas; and Gayle Cell and husband, Lester, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, Virgil Dreher and wife, Phyllis, Sartell, New Mexico; one sister, Bernie Leikam and husband Vernie, Ponca City, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Julius Scheck and wife, Gretchen, Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Elliott, Teague, Texas; and Evelyn Scheck, Hays, Kansas; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Koerner, son-in-law, John F. Wise; and one brother, Elmer Dreher. Altar Society Rosary and Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend. Celebrant will be Father Reginald A. Urban. Burial will follow in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimers Association, in care of the funeral home.
