Louise Fern Scott, died July 29, 2009 at Wilshire at Lakewood, Lee's Summit, Missiouri. She was born July 7, 1920 at Brookefield, Missouri, the daughter of Ashley Thurman and Zelphia (Dodge) Highfill. She married H. L. "Scotty" Scott August 9, 1942 at Hoisington, Kansas. He preceded her on June 2, 2000. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Great Bend and Hoisington area. Louise attended the Assembly of God Church, Great Bend and was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and various bridge clubs. Survivors include a son, Dan Scott and wife Billie, Lee's Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, with the Reverend Ralph Jarboe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Hospice or Children's Mercy Hospital, both in care of the funeral home.
