Lois Ann Mitchell, 75, died June 13, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 3, 1934 at Troy, New York, the daughter of Theodore J. and Jane M. (Messier) Rule. She married John H. Mitchell June 5, 1955 at Green Island, New York. A resident of Great Bend since 1972, moving from Troy and Green Island, New York, Mrs. Mitchell worked in the housekeeping department at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend for sixteen years. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, John H. Mitchell, of the home; two sons: Kenneth M. Mitchell and wife, Lori, Great Bend, Kansas; and Donald M. Mitchell and wife, Debbi, Hoisington, Kansas; one daughter, Denise Wassinger and husband, Larry, Wamego, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 and vigil service will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Floyd McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from noon to 9:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
