Linda S. (Monroe) Schlegel, 57, died November 28, 2010 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born May 31, 1953 at Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Glen Robert and Rosemary (Chambers) Monroe. She married Denton Schlegel October 27, 1972 at Hoisington. A lifetime Hoisington resident, she was the owner of Schlegel Realty. Mrs. Schlegel was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Church Council, life member of VFW Post #7428 and American Legion Post #286 auxiliaries, Chamber of Commerce, Breast Cancer Support Group, past member of Rainbow Girls, all of Hoisington and Great Bend Board of Realtors. Survivors include her husband, Denton Schlegel, of the home; one sister, Jeanette Clark and husband Ken, Shawnee, Kansas; and one uncle, Dale Monroe and wife Dale, McCracken, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Hoisington. The Reverend Kris Brinlee will officiate. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to service time, Wednesday at the church.
