Lila Dale Baker, 67, died January 29, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 7, 1941 at Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Harold H. and Lila Pauline (Mills) Reed. She married L. Deane Baker February 23, 1959 at Newkirk, Oklahoma. He died September 19, 2005. A resident of Otis, Kansas, since 1979, coming from California, Mrs. Baker was a bookkeeper and a librarian for the Otis City Library. Mrs. Baker was a member of the United Methodist Church, Otis, and the Otis EHU. Survivors include two sons: Joe Baker, Hoisington, Kansas; and Greg Baker, McPherson, Kansas; one step-son: Jon Baker, Houston, Texas; one daughter: Kim Silverie, Great Bend, Kansas; her father, Harold H. Reed, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters: Rita Wiggins, Maize, Kansas; and Brenda Byrd, Hillsboro, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Caitlin Silverie. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the Reverend Don Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time, Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the United Methodist Church, Otis, or the Otis Library, in care of the funeral home.
