LeRoy "Lee" Heikkila, 67, died February 28, 2013 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born May 8, 1945 at Superior, Wisconsin, the son of Eino and Alice (Humann) Heikkila. He married Cecilia Ross, September 1, 1996 in Great Bend. A Great Bend resident since 1980, coming from Billings, Montanna, Mr Heikkila was a drug and alcohol addictions counselor. Lee enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, playing poker with his friends, drinking coffee on the porch with his wife, and watching the KU Jayhawks win. Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Heikkila, of the home; one son, Scott Lund, Minneapolis, Minnesota: two daughters, Tamara Hurd and her husband Robert, Rockwall, Texas; and Tysha Sharma and her husband Rajat, Upper Marlboro, Maryland; his mother, Alice (Humann) Heikkila, Superior, Wisconsin; one sister, Lola Marks of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers: Jerome Heikkila, Osseo, Minnesota; Timothy Heikkila Tallahassee, Florida; three grandchildren: Robert Hurd, Aaron Hurd, and Kenan Hurd; two nieces and two nephews: and his dog, Dazzle. He was preceded in death by his father, Eino Heikkila and one nephew, Toby Heikkila. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Don Paden officiating. Interment will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home.
