Dwayne Detter, age 61, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. He was born February 15, 1952 at Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Leonard Dwayne and Donna Jean (Van Meter) Detter. Growing up in Sterling, Kansas, Dwayne was a Hoisington resident since 1996 coming from Oberlin, Kansas. He was a sales manager for KSN in Oberlin, and later eagle Radio in Hays, retiring in 2006. Dwayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hoisington. He married Denise Perry on July 30, 1977 at Lyons, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Denise Detter of the home in Hoisington; his mother, Donna Jean Detter of Sterling; one son: Jeb Detter and wife Sarah of Hoisington; one daughter: Caitie Detter Alexander of Hoisington; one sister: Chris Patton and husband Jon of Flower Mound, Texas; two brothers: Randy Detter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bill Detter and wife Debbie of Enid, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Jack Alexander, and Annalise Detter. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, and his brother, Brian Detter. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with Ron Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, January 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
