Leona L. Jenisch, 91, died May 16, 2008. She was born the daughter of Emil and Josephine (Zorn) Schneweis August 26, 1916 at Odin, Kansas. She married Arthur Jenisch October 16, 1946 at Odin. He died November 24, 2002. A lifetime Odin resident, Mrs. Jenisch retired from St. Rose Hospital, Great Bend, as a registered nurse. Mrs. Jenisch was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society, both of Odin, Kansas. Survivors include one son, Mel Jenisch, Wichita, Kansas; and one brother, Edwin Schneweis and wife, Lucille, Great Bend, Kansas. She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Schneweis, Wilhelm Schneweis, Father Emil Schneweis, Lawrence Schneweis, and Leonard Schneweis; and six sisters, Gabriella Habiger, Anna Schneweis, Sister Pauline Schneweis, Christina Demel, Mathilda Boor, and Gertrude Rziha. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008, followed by an Altar Society Rosary, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, with Father Pascal Klein celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, Great Bend or Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.
