Lea (Steitz) Lehmann, 96, died April 26, 2011 at Country Place Senior Living, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born April 16, 1915 at Otis, Kansas, the daughter of Conrad and Mary (Brack) Steitz. She married Martin F. Lehmann August 23, 1936 at Otis. He died September 12, 2005. She was baptized May 9, 1915 and confirmed June 2, 1929 at Otis. She graduated from Otis Rural High School and worked at the telephone office in Otis for several years. She was a longtime Hoisington resident, coming from Otis. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Lehmann was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington, WELCA, Otis and Hoisington; the Clara Barton Hospital Auxiliary; and sang in the church choir. She loved quilting, reading, puzzles, and embroidery. Survivors include one son, Marvin Lehmann and wife Janene, Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Dorothy Michaelis, Fair Oaks, California; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with The Reverend Steven Little officiating. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Memorials are requested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
