Lawrence Eugene Oberle, 67, died February 4, 2008 at his home in Ellinwood, Kansas. Larry was born on October 27, 1940 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of George B. and Edna Bertha Blazek Oberle. On March 15, 1959 he married Sharon K. Juby at Hoisington, Kansas. She survives. Larry was a lifetime Ellinwood resident. He worked for Central Power and Systems (formerly Detroit Diesel) of Great Bend. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ellinwood, Kansas. Survivors include, his wife Sharon of the home; two sons, Larry Ray Oberle and wife Tami of Chase, Kansas and Jerry lee Oberle of Ellinwood, Kansas; three daughters, Cindy Kay Fothergill of Ellinwood, Kansas, Toni Lynn Hicks and husband Jeff of Ellsworth, Kansas and Vickie Sue Hoffman and husband Vann of Ellinwood, Kansas; a sister, Marlene Schwartz and husband Leo of Houston, Texas; and ten grandchildren, Christopher Lamb, Angela Hicks, Colt Oberle, Derryc Werner, Ashli Fothergill, Michael Oberle, Megan Werner, Raven Oberle, Katlynn Werner and Kymberle Werner. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert G. Oberle. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church, 307 West A, Ellinwood, Kansas with Pastor Jason Winget officiating. Interment will be at the Lakin-Commanche Cemetery, Ellinwood, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family to receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Larry E. Oberle Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
