Larry Gene Miller, 65, died December 28, 2009 at his Great Bend, Kansas, residence. He was born August 4, 1944 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Samuel Marvin and Ruth (Queen) Miller. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Mr. Miller was an oilfield laborer and carpenter. Mr. Miller was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Great Bend. Survivors include two sons: Mel Miller, Haysville, Kansas; and Gary Miller, Salina, Kansas; one daughter: Carol Everhart, Valparaiso, Indiana; two brothers: Eddie Miller and Manuel Schlegel; three sisters: Virginia Champ, Georgia Mead, and Bonnie Woodard; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at the Great Bend Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Larry Miller Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
