Kelly Holden Benker, 24, died November 19, 2012 in Barton County, Kansas. He was born April 6, 1988 at Kingman, Kansas, the son of Keith Wayne and Susan Lynn (Bojan) Benker. A Great Bend resident since 1993, coming from Kingman, Kelly was an electrician. He loved to play the drums and guitar, to fish and to hunt. He was a loving, caring father. Survivors include his mother, Susan Lynn Bojan and companion, Kent Robinson, Kingman; one son, August Keith Benker of the home; step-mother, Maribeth Benker, Great Bend; fiancée, Melissa McVey of the home; step-sister, Corry Rowe and her husband Ryan, Great Bend; maternal grandparents: Robert and Brenda Steuerwald, Blackhawk, South Dakota; step-grandparents, Elmo and Ermalee Merritt, Hutchinson, Kansas; uncle, Kevin Benker and his wife Gina, Great Bend; aunts: Colleen White, Hebron, Nebraska; Kris Siebenneicher and husband Larry, Deschler, Nebraska; and Kathy George and her husband Gary, Hebron, Nebraska; niece, Raelynn Rowe; and cousin, Kaden Benker. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Benker; paternal grandparents, Ken and Connie Benker; and great-grandmother, Alta Moore. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Friends may sign the register book from noon to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time, Friday, November 23, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the August Keith Benker Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
