Kathleen "Sherry" Denton, 45, died February 24, 2008 at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born April 10, 1962 at Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Lee and Geneva Hazel Simmons Barton. She married Jay Denton August 3, 1981 at Great Bend, Kansas. As a lifetime resident of Great Bend, Mrs. Denton was a homemaker. Mrs. Denton was baptized in the Calvary Baptist Church, Ellinwood, Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Jay, of the home; one son, Dalton Denton, of the home; two daughters, Brenda Graves and husband, Cecil, Great Bend, Kansas, and Nicole Krom and husband, Matthew, Seattle, Washington; three brothers, Roy Lee Barton, Delhi, New York, Richard Dean Barton, Great Bend, Kansas, and Fred B. Barton, Claflin, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy May Bedard, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Janice Ann Zrubek, Salina, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Dylan and Jocelyn Krom, Seattle, Washington, and Erika, Nathan, Kiara, Zachary, and Gabrielle Graves, Great Bend, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arthur Leon Barton and Everett Don Barton. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 29, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Curtis Reinhardt officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
