Joyce Elaine Pace, 69, died August 27, 2010 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born April 11, 1941 at Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of William Rhote and Dixie Lee (Null) Anderson. She married Forrest J. Wallace, Jr., June 23, 1961 at Richmond, Missouri. He died November 5, 1970. She then married A. L. "Dick" Pace September 13, 1975 at Raytown, Missouri. He died in August 1985. A Hoisington resident since 1977, Mrs. Pace worked part-time as an RN at Clara Barton Hospital and the nursing home and was a school nurse for Unified School District 431 for seventeen years. She worked twenty-six years at the Hoisington EMS/Ambulance, serving the past several years as the director. Mrs. Pace was a member of First Baptist Church, Richmond; and attended First United Methodist Church, Hoisington. Survivors include one son, Rodney E. Pace, Webb City, Missouri; two daughters: Beverly J. Schmeidler, Great Bend; and Amy C. Pace, Tonganoxie, Kansas; one step-daughter, Linda M. Williams, Independence, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Jefferson Levon Boor, Nicholas Ray Pace, Dallas Alan Schmeidler, Forrest Grant Pace, Marcus Alan Schmeidler, Abby Leah Pace, and Eliott Wallace Pace; sister by heart, Sue Wagner, Hoisington. She was preceded in death by one step-son, Ray A. Wallace. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Pastor Don Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Committal services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Memory Gardens, Richmond, Missouri, with Pastor Liz Deveney officiating.
