Josephine M. Bieker, 84, died March 28, 2010 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born July 10, 1925 at Liebenthal, Kansas, the daughter of George and Rosa (Herrman) Pfeifer. She married Virgil Montague. He died March 25, 1958. She then married Victor W. Bieker April 7, 1962 at LaCrosse, Kansas. He died August 12, 1982. A homemaker, Mrs. Bieker was a Great Bend resident for forty-seven years, coming from Hays. Mrs. Bieker was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees, all of Great Bend. Survivors include two sons: Darrel Bieker (Scott Donovan) and wife Mary, Great Bend; and Curtis Montague, Hill City, Kansas; one daughter, Andrea Bieker, Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren: Aubrey Mink and husband Grant, Topeka, Kansas; Dylan Montague and wife Becky, Yuma, Arizona; Mitchell Montague, Topeka; Michala Bieker, Great Bend; and Emma Bieker, Great Bend; and two great-grandchildren: Scarlet Mink and Ivy Mink. She was preceded in death by one son, Bradley James Montague; six brothers; and three sisters. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Vigil service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Father Reginald A. Urban. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.
