John Alan Foos, 67, died March 19, 2011 at Ellsworth Good Samaritan Retirement Center, Ellsworth, Kansas. He was born March 2, 1944 at Bazine, Kansas, the son of John B., Jr. and Esther (Foos) Foos. A longtime Great Bend resident, coming from LaCrosse, Kansas, he was a truck driver. Mr. Foos was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his companion, Sharolyn Bennett of the home and her son Chris Hughes, Great Bend; one sister, Darlene Delaney and husband Clayton, Great Bend; one grandson, Dylon Hughes, Park City, Kansas; one nephew, Dan Delaney and wife Diane, Great Bend; one niece, Sherlyn Delaney, Overland Park, Kansas; special friend, Kent Schartz, Great Bend; and his dog, Sugarbear. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m., at Bazine Cemetery, Bazine. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the First Street Church of God, Hoisington, in care of the funeral home.
