Joe Foelgner, Jr., 83, died April 1, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born August 28, 1925 at Rush County, Kansas, the son of Joe, Sr. and Emma (Becker) Foelgner. He married Donna Wesley in 1950 at Clayton, New Mexico. They divorced in 1974. Being a lifetime resident of the Great Bend area, he was an oilfield consultant for many local oil production companies. Mr. Foelgner was of the Christian faith. Survivors include one son, Brent Foelgner, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, Vernon Foelgner, Florida; one sister, Ida Fanshier, Great Bend, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Mulder. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at Great Bend Cemetery. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. until noon Friday, April 3, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, in care of the funeral home.
