Jimmie B. Baird, 54, died April 13, 2010 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born September 13, 1955 at Park City, Kansas, the son of Robert Leo and Mary Lou (Pollard) Baird. He married Kimberly R. Tuzicka June 2, 1984 at Great Bend, Kansas. A Great Bend resident since 1973, coming from Girard, Kansas, Mr. Baird was operational manager for Rainbow Trucking, LLC. Mr. Baird coached local Special Olympics team, The Storm. Survivors include his wife, Kim Baird, of the home; two sons, Robert J. Baird and Corey M. Baird, both of Great Bend; two brothers: Gary Baird, Houston, Texas, and Bob Baird, Pratt, Kansas; five sisters: Eddi Walty, Everett, Washington; Karen Sisler, Sebree, Kentucky; Linda Beauchaine, Vallejo, California; Gloria Schroeder, Sarasota, Florida; and Roberta Logan, Wichita, Kansas; one granddaughter, Rylee Mae Baird; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Daniel Baird; and one sister, Georgia Baird. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. Father Peter Fernandez will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorials in Mr. Baird's name have been established with The Storm, in care of the funeral home.
