Jerry Ray Phillips, 65, died September 11, 2009 at his home. He was born June 26, 1944 at Liberal, Kansas, the son of Charles and Edna (Kemper) Phillips. He married Cherie Nickell April 7, 1989 at Great Bend, Kansas. He was a resident of Great Bend for more than twenty years, moving from Liberal. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Great Bend. Survivors include his wife, Cherie Phillips, of the home; mother, Edna Phillips, Amarillo, Texas; two sons: B. T. Phillips, Morrilton, Arkansas; and Rob Phillips, Perryville, Arkansas; three daughters: Jeri Lynn Moore and husband, Jackie, Perryville, Arkansas; Dawn Martin, Great Bend, Kansas; and Michelle Shimp, Mohnton, Pennsylvania; one sister, Carolyn Patton and husband, Bob, Amarillo, Texas; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Phillips; and one grandson, J. T. Phillips. A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
