Janice Marie Effertz, 51, died January 26, 2008 at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. Janice was born on September 15, 1956 at Williston, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry Louis, Jr. and Sharon Joan Grisius Effertz. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1990 coming from Wichita, Kansas. Janice was formerly a caregiver for Sunflower Diversified Services. Survivors include, her father, Henry Effertz and wife, Diane, Great Bend; her mother, Sharon Servi, Littleton, Colorado; three brothers, Steve Effertz, Great Bend, Kansas, Anthony Effertz, Kansas City, Missouri, and Douglas Effertz, Great Bend, Kansas; a half brother, Jon Servi, Madison, Wisconsin; a half sister, Jackie Zube, Littleton, Colorado. She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Effertz; an infant brother, Danny LeRoy Effertz; and an infant sister, Patty Jo Effertz. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Dwight Birket officiating. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
