Janet S. Brack, 59, died October 20, 2010 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 15, 1951 at Maryville, Missouri, the daughter of Rolla and Helen (Blacketer) Rankin. She married Greg Brack July 29, 1992 at Great Bend, after sharing their lives since 1984. A longtime Barton County resident, coming from Norton, Kansas, Mrs. Brack worked for BMI as a claim processor and was a social worker and elementary school teacher for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, gardening, and her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Greg Brack, of the home; her father, Rolla Rankin, Newton, Kansas; one son, Cally Piland and wife Emily, Peosta, Iowa; two daughters: Amanda Piland and husband David, Centennial, Colorado; and Jamie Peschka and husband Thomas, Great Bend; two brothers: Mark Rankin and wife LeAnna, Pratt, Kansas; and Steve Rankin and wife Cindy, Newton; two sisters: Catherine Rankin and companion Roman Theis, Newton; and Patricia Rankin, Kansas City, Missouri; and six grandchildren: Zac Piland, Cally Piland, Jr., Rolla Piland, Claira Piland, Jacob Peschka, and Logan Peschka. Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Sweeney officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
