James "Jim" Woydziak, 65, died April 17, 2009 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. He was born March 8, 1944 at Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Arsenius and Mathilda (Hoffman) Woydziak. He married Sheridan Ann Miller, who preceded him in death June 30, 1963. He married Mary Catherine Ryan June 11, 1966 at Colby, Kansas. A lifetime resident of the Susank-Hoisington area, Mr. Woydziak was a farmer and stockman. Mr. Woydziak was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1521, both of Hoisington. Survivors include his wife, Mary Woydziak, Hoisington, Kansas; one son, Paul Woydziak and wife, Michelle, Hoisington, Kansas; two daughters: Tamara Sanders and husband, Don, Hoisington, Kansas; and Amanda Woydziak and fiance, Chris Gotts, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Juanita Brower, Pampa, Texas; and nine grandchildren: Zane Sanders, Anthony Luerman, Zachary Sanders, Natalie "Alexis" Sanders, Zade Sanders, Cheyanne Sanders, Bailey Sanders, Ryan Woydziak, and Wyatt Woydziak. He was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Woydziak; one daughter, Natalie Sue Luerman; and one brother, Bernard Woydziak. Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2009, followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Dwight Birket will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Hoisington. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
