Irene M. Revell, 91, died February 28, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 8, 1917 at Johnson County, Kansas, the daughter of David and Nellie Pointer. She married Jesse Easdon in 1935, but they later divorced. She married Cleo "Red" Revell in 1942. He died August 31, 1997. A homemaker, in her earlier years, Mrs. Revell was secretary for Scheuffler's Supply and was co-owner of Cleo Revell's Oilfield Service. She lived most of her life in Great Bend, moving from Ellinwood, Kansas. She was a former member and Sunday School Teacher at Immanuel Baptist Church, Great Bend. Survivors include one daughter, Joan Rathbun and husband, Wayne, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, Carl Pointer, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Charlotte Rowe, Cheryl Lawson, Wayne Rathbun, Jr., Christina Rathbun, Monica Meek, and Daniel Smith; thirteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Smith officating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the First Southern Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
