Irene Ethel Ellis, Great Bend, 92, died August 12, 2007, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. She was born January 17, 1915, at Flagstaff, Arizona, the daughter of William and Ethel Ecklin Eastham. In 1947, Irene married George Wayne Ellis in El Dorado, Kansas. He died September 7, 1962. A resident of Great Bend since 1956, coming from El Dorado, she was a clerk at the Barton County Courthouse. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Great Bend. Survivors include two daughters, Constance J. Hartwig and husband Dale, and Doris D. Lehman and husband Larry, all of Littleton, Colorado. Other survivors include one brother, William Eastham, Kaufman, Texas, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Eastham and by one sister Ailene Perkins. Funeral Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Central Baptist Church, Great Bend, with the Reverend David Hill presiding. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, El Dorado. Visitation will be Monday Noon until 9:00 p.m., with the family recieving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, all at Bryant Funeral Home.
