Ileen A. Hanhardt, 89, died July 13, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born November 11, 1922 at Alexander, Kansas, the daughter of Peter and Elsa (Ebert) Boese. She married Glen M. Whipple October 12, 1941. He died October 21, 1948. She then married Herman Hanhardt November 24, 1953 at Hoisington, Kansas. He died December 10, 2007. A resident of Barton and Rush Counties most of her life, Mrs. Hanhardt was a homemaker and a secretary for Kansas Brick and Tile, Inc. Mrs. Hanhardt was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Zion's Daughters women's leader. Survivors include one daughter, Verla Jean Rea, Wichita, Kansas; one sister, LaVern Huddleston, Alexander; one brother, Don Boese, Hoisington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Loren Dyke will officiate. Entombment will be in Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
