Henrietta M. Houser, 85, died August 31, 2013 at her home in Great Bend. She was born August 30, 1928 at Schoenchen, Kansas, the daughter of Carl and Christine (Arela) Dinges. She married Louie J. Prosser May 23, 1946 at Great Bend. He died June 4, 1967. She married Ronald D. Houser December 30, 1972 at Great Bend. He died April 19, 2010. Mrs. Houser lived most of her life in Great Bend and worked in food service for USD #428 and Elks Lodge as a cook until retirement. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, Altar Society and Eagles Auxillary. Survivors include one sister: Elizabeth Wolf, Wimauma, FL; one brother: Wenelyn Dinges, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Brack. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., and a Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Bryant Funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Don Bedore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
