Helen Leona Rohr, 89, died August 1, 2007 at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born August 21, 1917 at Ness City, Kansas, the daughter of Andrew and Rosa Dinges Stecklein. On September 29, 1941 she married Fred A. Rohr at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City, Kansas. He died on November 24, 1994. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1954 coming from Ness City, Kansas. She was a homemaker. Helen was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and Altar Society, both of Great Bend, Kansas. Survivors include, two sons, Ron Rohr and wife Patty of Great Bend and George Rohr of Columbia, Missouri; three sisters, Lenora Springer and Frieda Ureita both of Denver, Colorado, and Sister Lillian Stecklein of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar Stecklein, Marvin Stecklein, Paul Stecklein and Frank Stecklein; two sisters, Lillian Linenberger and Ida Wilert and a grandson, Mitch Rohr. An Altar Society Rosary will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. A vigil service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 6, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Prince of Peace Parish in care of the funeral home.
