Hazel M. "Peg" Duke, 97, died at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas on December 22, 2006. She was born May 9, 1909 at Lane, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ernest Howe and Clara Mae Wolbert Jamison. She married Lynn Oliver Duke July 26, 1926 at Shermon, Texas. He died October 28, 1980. She was co-owner of Duke Oil Company. A resident of Great Bend for sixty years, she was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include a nephew, Leonard Williamson, Great Bend, Kansas, and a sister, Wanda Ardelia Bell. Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by four brothers, Duward Jamison, Frank Jamison, Earl Jamison, and Roy Jamison and one sister, Neva Williamson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas. The Reverend Don Paden will officiate. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until service time all at Bryant Funeral Home.
