Hattie T. Hipp, 94, died July 3, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born November 16, 1914 at Odin, Kansas, the daughter of William and Josephine (Reif) Hipp. A housekeeper for Msgr. Steve Reif for forty-two years, Miss Hipp also worked in the Wichita aircraft industry during World War II. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1989, moving from Marienthal and Dighton. Miss Hipp was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and the Altar Society, Great Bend. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe Hipp, Bill Hipp, Frank Hipp, Fred Hipp, Louis Hipp, and Julius "Sham" Hipp; and six sisters, Ann Boor, Mary Hipp, Helen Walker, Ida Gassen, Sister Mary William Hipp, and Eleanor Strasser. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Vigil service wil be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Fathers Floyd McKinney and John Strasser will be celebrants. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Odin. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Seminary Burse of the Diocese of Dodge City or Holy Family School Endowment Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
