Greg A. Hekele, 49, died April 27, 2010 at his residence, Odin, Kansas. He was born April 18, 1961 at Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Martha (Moeder) Hekele. A rural Odin resident all of his life, he was a dairy farmer and stockman. Mr. Hekele was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #2630, both of Odin. Survivors include his father, Joseph F. Hekele, Wilson, Kansas; three brothers: Terry Hekele, Great Bend, Kansas; Joe Hekele and wife Tina, Odin; and Mike Hekele and wife Kim, Odin; four sisters: Anne Beck and husband Allan, Claflin; Jacque Phelan and husband Dennis, Rangely, Colorado; Joan Miller and husband Brian, Claflin; and Angie Miller and husband Brock, Eudora, Kansas; twenty-three nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Hekele; and one sister-in-law, Leota Hekele. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin. Father Dwight Birket will be celebrant. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
