Gladys Wade, 91, died February 24, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 30, 1916 at Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of John David and Olive Lodema Manwarren Wright. She married Leslie B. Wade December 7, 1938 at Lyons. He died June 13, 1970. Mrs. Wade was a resident of Great Bend since 1957, coming from Lyons and was a homemaker. Mrs. Wade was a member of First Christian Church, Martha's Group, and Dinamo Club, all of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Farrel Wade and wife, Melody, Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Karen Miller, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Ruth Wagner, Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren, Scott Miller, Great Bend, Kansas, Justin Miller, Great Bend, Kansas, and Stephanie Osborne, Wichita, Kansas; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Wright and Walter Wright; and one sister, Elsie Reents. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008 at First Christian Church. The Reverend William F. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials in Mrs. Wade's name are suggested to the First Christian Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
