Geraldine B. "Gerry" Lawson, 91, of Great Bend, passed away August 19, 2007, at Cherry Village Nursing Home. Gerry was born to Lloyd and Annabelle Baker Mayberry October 20, 1915, at Duquoin, Kansas. Being a homemaker and a clerk for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, Gerry was also a past member of the Duquoin Methodist Church. She married Ray Lawson May 20, 1963, in Miami, Oklahoma. Ray died August 17, 1994. Gerry had been a resident of Great Bend since 1994, coming from Wichita. Survivors include one sister, Rachel Williams, Great Bend, a niece Pam Lewis, Great Bend, a great nephew, Jeremy Lewis and wife Melanie, Great Bend, Cousins; Phyllis Christie and husband Bill, Stafford, KS, Isabelle Hoover, and Marian Phye, both of Harper, KS. Gerry was preceded in death by a sister Imogene Lewis, and a nephew, Chuck Lewis. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007, on the North porch of Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, KS, with Chuck Smith officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Harper Cemtery, Harper, KS. Memorials may be given to the Cherry Village Nursing Home Activity Fund or the Central Kansas Medical Center Foundation for Heartland Cancer Center Patient Endowment Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
