Geraldine M. Buehler, 86, died April 26, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 25, 1923 at Ellinwood, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph M. and Mary "Mamie" (Heinz) Hammeke. She married Paul Buehler February 4, 1946 at Ellinwood. He died November 4, 1997. Mrs. Buehler worked for the Signal Corps at the Great Bend Army Air Field from 1943 to 1946 and was formerly a buyer for King Soopers. She was a resident of Great Bend since 2004, coming from Golden, Colorado, where she had lived for fifty years. Mrs. Buehler was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Survivors include one brother, Alfred J. Hammeke, Claflin, Kansas; and seventeen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Hammeke, Dennis Hammeke, and Father Gerald Hammeke. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April, 28, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend. Father Reginald A. Urban will be celebrant. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ellinwood. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home.
